Located on an historic site the brief was to create an industrially influenced residence. Mimicking its workshop/stable block past the design offers a warehouse face to the street, opening to the northern aspect with double height glazing at the rear of the property. The construction system is insulated plaster on masonry block. This allowed for the faces of walls, external & internal, to be clear sealed in preference to plasterboard & paint finish. Using just 2 sliding interior doors with private areas cocooned within the form of the building allow the raw strength of the design to be uninhibited by domestic fittings & finishes.
